My platform is commitmented to increasing parental involvement in the educational process. Recognizing parents as key stakeholders in their children’s education, I support enhanced and direct communication channels, and opportunities for parents to contribute to curriculum development and policy decisions. As a parent of two children educated in the St. Mary’s County Public School system (GMHS Class of 2021 and LHS Class of 2023), I understand the value parents bring to the table and know they are the best advocates for their children. My involvement with Destination Imagination, Robotics Club, Sunshine Math, STEM Academy and other various classroom activities gives me a unique view from inside the classroom and through the eyes of students.

I myself have a learning disability so understands the challenges a rigid system can put on kids that could otherwise excel.
